Project overview

The Tre Valli Umbre route is a very important road route in central Italy that, when completed, will make it easy and fast to connect the valleys of the Nera, Chiascio and Tiber rivers with a route mainly in tunnels and viaducts.

The final project concerns the Spoleto Aquasparta section for an extension of about 21 km, which will directly connect the S.S, 3 "Flaminia" and the E45 superfast road, two strategic axes of Italian mobility.

Sintagma's activities involved preliminary and final and executive design, which included:

  • Topographic and geognostic surveys;
  • Environmental, geotechnical, hydrological, and hydraulic studies;
  • Preliminary and final design of 20.85 km of new 2-lane dual carriageway road (cat. B);
  • Executive design of 6 km of new road, single line (Cat. C1);
  • 8 multilevel intersections;
  • 1 bridge and 9 viaducts with total length exceeding 3.4 km;
  • 4 tunnels with a total extension of 6.07 km;
  • Program of organization of works, utilities and expropriation of land;
  • Technical specifications and contract documents.
